Being happy and content with your body weight is something everyone wishes for themselves. The proven most effective way of getting this is through a healthy diet and regular exercise. Maintaining that body will also require a great deal of discipline and commitment. However, despite your best efforts, there may still be patches of stubborn fat overall in your body that may prove challenging to get rid of. This brings about the need for services such as Coolsculpting in Vintage Park. Read on to learn more about cool sculpting and what it entails.

    What is CoolSculpting?

This procedure utilizes fat-freezing techniques to get rid of stubborn fat in various parts of your body. It also goes by the name cryolipolysis. This method works based on the fact that fat tends to freeze at a higher temperature than your skin. Therefore, the coolsculpting device cools your fat up to a temperature whereby it is destroyed while your skin and other tissues are left unharmed.

    The CoolSculpting Procedure

This procedure is not considered surgery and thus does not need needles. Two paddles enclose the targeted part of your body, whereby the device holds it down. The paddles are then cooled, and your doctor leaves them there for a duration ranging between thirty-five and seventy-five minutes. A significant portion of the fat cells in that area are immediately eliminated.

Visible changes will begin to appear within a few weeks, with the final desired results being seen after a few months. During this time, your immune system slowly gets rid of the dead fat cells.

    Who should get CoolSculpting done?

You should note that coolsculpting is not done to reduce weight. It is performed to remove fat pockets around your body that you have been unable to get rid of through diet changes and exercise.

Cryolipolysis should also be avoided if you have:

    • Poor skin tone
    • Loose skin
    •  A condition whereby abnormal proteins from your blood thicken when exposed to cold
    • A type of anemia that results in the destruction of red blood cells when in the cold
    • A condition of the skin characterized by hives when it gets cold
    • Raynaud’s phenomenon

You may also need to avoid the procedure if:

    • You are nursing or pregnant
    • You cannot handle the cold well
    • You are obese

Areas of your body should not undergo coolsculpting if there are:

    • Nerve problems
    • Varicose veins
    • Lesions or rashes

Cryolipolysis is done to kill fat cells in the following areas of your body:

    • Thighs
    • Belly
    • Jawline and under the chin
    • Under the butt
    • Back and sides
    • Upper arm
    • Along the bra line

CoolSculpting may be accompanied by various side effects. You may feel a tugging or pull on your skin and extreme cold. After the procedure, you may feel sore, like exercising with a bit of swelling. On rare occasions, you may feel mild pain or even nerve pain.

Fat pockets on parts of your body may prove difficult to get rid of despite vigorous exercise plans and a strict diet. This should not deter you from attaining your desired body shape as there is coolsculpting available. Visit our website or call our offices in Vintage Park, TX, to book a consultation.
