What to Expect When You Start a Bioidentical Hormone Therapy

You can alleviate menopause, perimenopause, or andropause (male menopause) symptoms with Bioidentical Hormone Replacement Therapy (BHRT.) You should expect a medical checkup and thorough blood testing for hormone levels before you begin. To identify the optimum amount of BHRT and the best way to give it, your doctor will work with you to determine whether tablets, lotions, or pellet implants are the best options for you. If you are interested in New York bioidentical hormone therapy, expect symptoms to lessen, and your general well-being will improve within a few weeks of starting treatment. Within three to six months, you may see the full benefits of the treatment. Here is what you should expect once you begin the therapy:

    BHRT comprehensive blood work analysis

Before beginning bioidentical hormone replacement therapy, you and your BHRT specialist will do a complete bloodwork study to identify the appropriate hormone levels. As a result, each patient gets a dose tailored to their specific requirements.

    Bioidentical hormone pellet implants

Hormone pellets are injected into the subcutaneous fatty tissue after the dosage levels have been established to provide modest, physiologic dosages of bioidentical hormones. For men and women, hormone pellets are the most effective method for delivering hormones since they are made by fusing estrogen or testosterone into microscopic cylinders. Smaller than a grain of rice, your doctor can implant the pellets in a simple office visit.

    Bioidentical hormones are released continuously

Up to five months after implanting the pellets, they will gradually release bioidentical hormones into your system, depending on the treatment plan. BioTE bioidentical hormone pellet therapy, in contrast to other forms of hormone therapy such as oral or transdermal, offers continuous treatment without the many ups and downs associated with specific hormonal therapies.

Because of the significant variations in hormone levels caused by other oral and transdermal therapies, patients may experience mood and energy swings that resemble a “roller coaster.” As an alternative, bioidentical hormone pellets continuously release hormones into the body throughout therapy. Hormone replacement therapy has fewer adverse effects since the hormones are chemically similar to those generated naturally by your body. Because the pellets contain just hormones and nothing else, they disintegrate entirely throughout therapy.

When can you expect to see positive outcomes?

A week to two weeks after the start of therapy, most patients report a reduction in the severity of their symptoms, although this is not uncommon. Your genetics, dose, and way of life influence the hormone treatment response time. The doctor might reevaluate the amount if the patient has not seen a substantial improvement after more than a month.

How long do the results last?

Pellet-based bioidentical hormone replacement treatment, the most successful method, has a half-life of four months or more. Symptoms of menopause and andropause typically reappear after 10 to 12 weeks; however, this is not always the case.

BHRT may be an alternative for those who suffer from symptoms linked to low or imbalanced hormone levels. The adverse effects and dangers of BHRT are substantial and should be discussed with your doctor before starting treatment.
