    Because of the changing pace of our lives today, almost each one of us today shows symptoms of anxiety. Now, the severity of anxiety disorder can range from mild to severe, and based on the severity, you may need to get the help of a professional. Some of the symptoms of anxiety include fear and a racing heart. If you have not been diagnosed with anxiety yet, but have the symptoms, you must get in touch with a mental health counselor for flushing mental health counseling. While some levels of anxiety may be okay, if your anxiety causes functional impairment, it is about time to seek help. 

    Risks associated with anxiety disorder:

    The truth is that some people are more prone to anxiety disorders than others. So, what are these risk factors? People who are way too shy, have early life stress, have gone through traumatic events, or have a family history of medical concerns are more prone to anxiety disorders. On top of that, people who have thyroid issues can also show symptoms of anxiety. It is also important to note that since women go through more hormonal changes compared to men, they are more likely to be anxious, and the underuse of medication by women may make symptoms worse.

    Different types of anxiety:

    Note that there can be several kinds of anxiety. The different types generally include Generalized anxiety disorder (GAD), panic disorder, phobias, and separation anxiety. Disorders such as post-traumatic stress disorder and obsessive-compulsive disorder can also fall under the category of anxiety. 

    Generalized anxiety disorder:

    Those who have generalized anxiety disorder show symptoms of excessive and unnecessary tension, which in turn can affect their lives in numerous ways. Some physical symptoms are also associated with GAD and people might often feel agitated, and have difficulty sleeping and focusing on things.

    Panic disorder:

    People who have panic disorders often suffer from sudden panic attacks, which often resemble heart attacks. Some of the symptoms of panic attacks can include sweating, palpitations, chest pain, and a sense of suffocation.

    Phobias:

    People who have phobias often have an illogical fear of things and events. This can include intense fears of certain objects, such as animals, blood, flying, heights, injections, etc. 

    Final thoughts:
